  • Broken wheat (dalia) 1 cup

Ingredients

  • Broken wheat (dalia) 1 cup
  • Sunflower oil 2 tbsps
  • Small onion, sliced 1
  • Green chillies, chopped 1 tsp
  • Carrots, peeled, diced and boiled ¾ cup
  • Green peas, blanched ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 3 tsps

How to Make Dalia Upma (Stepwise Photos)

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add onion and green chillies and saute till onion turns translucent.
  2. Add carrots and green peas, mix and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add salt and broken wheat and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add 2½ cups water, mix well, cover and cook till broken wheat is done and all the moisture is absorbed.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
