Tips to Remove Burnt Leftovers from Cooking Dishes

No one likes to be faced with the chore of scrubbing unrelenting black-as-coal dishes clean!

One of the best tips for getting burnt food off a casserole or any other dish is to fill it with cold water and a couple of tablespoons of washing powder or liquid and slowly heat it. The layers of burnt food will then start to lift off.

Other great methods to remove burnt leftovers from dishes are as follows:

1. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to your normal dish washing liquid and apply the mixture to the burnt food. Then scrub the dish with a scouring pad.

2. Mix one part vinegar with four parts water, and pour the solution into the casserole dish. Boil the water and vinegar solution over low heat for 5 minutes. After letting the dish cool, you will be able to wipe away the burnt food.

3. Wet the casserole dish and sprinkle salt over the burnt food. Let the salt soak for up to 10 minutes, and then scrub the pan using a scouring pad.

4. Chill the dish in the freezer for 3 hours. The burnt food will be easier to remove when it is frozen, using your usual dish washing liquid and a scouring pad.
