Storing Green Chilies

Most of the time we find ourselves with a whole lot of chilies at hand! The hard part is making sure they don’t go bad when in storage.

Green chilies are known to have bacteria around the stem. This leads to early spoilage.

A great way to store this spicy beauty is to first wash the chilies and let them air-dry or use a paper towel to pat-dry. Then snap off and discard the stems, wrap in paper towels and refrigerate in an air-tight bag or container. This helps the chilies stay fresh for a longer time.

And always remember to pull out the stem from each chilly with your hand. DO NOT use a knife.
