Rice kheer made in
the Benarasi style
- Skimmed milk 4 cups
- Rice, soaked for 30 minutes ½ cup
- Almonds, sliced 3 tsps
- Raisins 3 tsps
Step 1. Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan, add rice and cook, stirring till the rice gets cooked and the milk thickens.

How to Make Benarasi Kheer (Stepwise Photos)
Method
- Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan, add rice and cook, stirring till the rice gets cooked and the milk thickens.
- Add almonds and raisins and cook. Add jaggery and stir till it melts completely.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with beetle leaves and cool down to room temperature.
- Chill in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
