Cashewnuts enrich these choco chip bars – an all-time favourite with the kids


  • Cashewnuts, chopped ½ cup
  • Dark chocolate chips ½ cup
  • White chocolate chips ½ cup
  • Melted butter ½ cup + to grease
  • Brown sugar ¾ cup
  • Sugar ¼ cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Vanilla extract ½ tsp
  • Refined flour 1 cup
  • Baking soda ½ tsp
  • Baking powder ½ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp


  • Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a baking dish.
  • Take butter, brown sugar and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric beater till the sugars dissolve and the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, vanilla extract and continue to beat.
  • Add refined flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, dark and white chocolate chips and fold in well.
  • Pour the mixture into the greased dish. Spread cashewnuts on top.
  • Keep the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Take the dish out of the oven and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Cut into bars, arrange the bars on a serving platter and serve.
