  • Oats 400 gms
  • Butter ¼ cup
  • Brown sugar 2 tbsps
  • Mixed dry fruits (almonds, raisins, cashewnuts), chopped 1 cup
  • Chocolate, melted ½ cup
  • Colourful sprinklers to garnish

How to Make Hearty Honey Flapjacks (Stepwise Photos)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180º C.
  2. Melt butter in a deep non-stick pan, add brown sugar and honey and mix well. Add oats and dry fruits, mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Transfer the oats mixture into a greased baking tray, keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Bring the tray out of the oven and let it cool down to room temperature before demoulding.
  5. Keep it on a plate cut out heart shaped flapjacks with a heart shaped cookie cutter.
  6. Dip the flapjacks in melted chocolate and place them on a wire rack so that extra chocolate drips.
  7. Arrange them on a tray, keep it in the freezer for 4-5 minutes for the chocolate to set.
  8. Place the chocolate flapjacks on a serving plate, drizzle a little honey over them, garnish with colourful sprinklers and serve.
